Overview
(we hadn’t chosen a name for the product yet) It simplifies remembering and celebrating birthdays. Users can add and manage loved ones’ birthdays, receive timely reminders, and send personalized messages effortlessly. With calendar sync, customizable notifications, and thoughtful gift suggestions. We adopted a goal-focused approach which helped us move along the timeline with the users in mind.
Project Vision:
People forget birthdays - not because they don’t care, but because life gets busy. Messages feel rushed, reminders come too late, and finding the right words can be a challenge. This app is designed to take that pressure off. It organizes important dates, personalizes messages, and sends timely reminders, ensuring birthdays are celebrated with intention. We aim to make celebrating loved ones simple, intentional, and stress-free.

The Real Problem:
Many rely on social media reminders to remind them of birthdays, of which once the reminder beeps, there’s little to no time for meaningful planning. Remember! At the core of human interaction is the need to feel remembered and valued, yet birthdays - one of the simplest ways to show we care - are often forgotten. This leaves a negative effect on employees, loved ones, and important people generally. The negligence is disheartening.
Take-off Point:
At the start of this project, we asked ourselves key questions: Why would someone choose this app? How can we make it effortless to use? Can we help both individuals and small businesses manage birthdays in a meaningful way? Can we inspire more people to be thoughtful, not just with loved ones but also with clients? Most importantly, can we turn thoughtfulness into an opportunity - one that strengthens relationships and even creates new earning possibilities?
These questions shaped our approach, driving us to build a solution that goes beyond reminders to truly enhance how people celebrate and create money-making connections.
Challenges & Assumptions
We asked these challenging questions, ensuring we build something truly valuable:
Can we build trust? Users will be sharing personal details. We need to make sure privacy and security are rock solid.
Will people actually use this? It’s one thing to have a cool idea, but will users see enough value to make it part of their routine?
Will the messages feel real? Automation is great, but can we generate messages that feel genuinely thoughtful and not robotic?
Is there really a business opportunity: Could remembering birthdays actually help users build relationships, grow their business, or even earn money?
Research
I conducted user research to gain an understanding that will help us in building something truly useful. The research was done to understand how people think about birthdays, how they currently manage them, and what gaps exist in their experience.

User Persona
I interviewed several users to understand frustrations, pain-points and recommendations of what a good solution is. After studying the feedback of the user interview, I narrowed the feedback into personas of the user types that are more likely to use our product. This helped in guiding the design and ensuring it was done according to research.
User Flow
I came up with the most natural path a user would take – from discovering the app to sending their first thoughtful birthday message. Each step is built to encourage a meaningful action without overwhelming the user.
Information Architecture
Simplicity is my goal here. I want users to have it easy when they use this product, whether they are tech-savvy or not. Every section was structured to reduce friction and help users achieve their goals
Wireframes
Before diving into visuals and styling, I focused on getting the structure right. These wireframes represent my earliest thinking around layout, flow, and usability.
High Fidelity Designs
With a structure in place, it was time to bring the app to life. I moved into high-fidelity design, adding color, typography, and icons, which were chosen to support clarity, warmth, and a smooth user experience.
